Marshall completes Mercedes-Benz Deal

Marshall, the debt-free, fast-growing, family-owned dealer Group has just announced that it has successfully completed its acquisition of Mercedes-Benz retail outlets in the North West, from Pendragon plc. The acquisition covers seven franchised business with Mercedes-Benz in
Blackpool, Preston, Blackburn, Bolton and South Lakes, and smart in Blackpool and Bolton.

The new dealerships bring the Marshall Group’s total to 62 businesses and the addition of the two new brands brings the Marshall portfolio to 25. The acquisition takes the Marshall colleague headcount to around 2,000. Speaking about the deal, Marshall Chief Executive, Daksh Gupta said:
“This is a hugely significant deal for Marshall and the new businesses will take our turnover to a running rate of around £675m, nearly double our 2008 turnover.”

As part of the acquisition, all 170 people working at the five sites have transferred to Marshall.
